Chocolate, Depression & Magnesium Deficiency

Depressed, anxious people often crave chocolate – as much as half according to a recent Australian study published in the British Journal of Psychiatry. Such cravings can be a sign of magnesium deprivation as chocolate contains magnesium. Meeting magnesium needs may explain in part why eating chocolate makes you feel better. For maximum nutritional benefit, eat raw chocolate or better raw cacao beans.
